Nigerian singer-songwriter Somadina premiered a new song “Rolling Loud” on BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists with Jack Saunders.
The song is the first single of 2020, following “SUPERSOMA” released last October.
The track was written by Somadina, and ADEY, who also produced it.
Somadina told Jack Saunders about the song, “This song was just inspired by me going through a lot and releasing energy into his song saying like, you know, I want to just be chill. I just want to be on my own I want to my business. I just want to do my own thing. I don’t want people disturbing me. I don’t think I was ever doubting my ability. I feel like I’ve just constantly been evolving. I appreciate that. I don’t know the size of me yet like I’m going to know them. And I really like learning a lot growing in the last few years like with everyone.”

She explained of her music, “I’ve had like, different experiences. I grew up in Amsterdam. And it really, really like was just a period where like, I had like my elementary years and learned a lot I went to school. And then I moved to Nigeria when I was a bit older, with my family as well. And that was like a big culture shock because obviously, both places are very different. But I feel like in my music and everything like you can hear that I have been influenced by like my environments.”
She continued, “Love family music, definitely. Those are like the things that have life. I guess my formative years really, really changed a lot about me. Also, Nigeria, like it’s just my roots. So it’s like I really really, really, really connect to this place, and it challenged me in a way that no one else has ever challenged me.”
